You can think of an event like a calendar item or something that a user must register for.
So for example if you want your users to be able to book a call with you every Monday and Tuesday at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, and 5pm then you can create an event for that and add the days and times of booking.
Once a user registers for your event we'll block the date and time off so others can't register.
You can allow multiple spots per registration as well. For example if you have an in-person event with spots up to 100 people then you can allow for 100 registrations before it becomes unavailable.
You can also add a dollar amount to your event so before a user can register they must pay. This is useful for when the user must pay for a call with you. They can then schedule a call and then receive the details after paying.
