How to create an event
An event is like a calendar registration page where users can register to book a call with you, webinars, and other events.
For this event we will go through how to create a personal call calendar so customers can book with you on certain days of the week and book up to 21 days in the future.
1. Login to your Member Pages account and navigate to your Admin Dashboard.
2. Click on Events --> Add Event.
3. Enter a Name and Description for Your Event.
Note: Both of these things will be publicily visible.
4. Enter an Event ID - This just needs to be something unique. It can be your name or the name of an event.
Note: This will be part of your event URL so if you enter call-with-joe then your url will be something like events.memberpages.app/yoursubdomain/call-with-joe
5. Save the Page and you should then be taken to the Registration Times.
3. Select Your Timezone.
All times will be converted to this timezone / Customers can select their timezone as needed too)
4. Click on Day of Week.
5. Now select the day you would like to add times for.
Note: You can only select a single day here
6. Change the Number of Max Days to Allow Scheduling to 21 or the Number You Want to Use.
This will allow the user to only register up to 21 days ahead
7. Select the Hour of booking, minute of booking, am/pm and spots available
Note that for personal calls you will want to limit spots available to 1. For things like in-person events and multiple registrations you can limit it to a higher number like 25 or 100. Once the spots fill up it will no longer be available for registration.
8. Enter how long your event is inside the Time Duration field.
So if you have a 45 minute phone call you will enter 45 here.
9. Click Save Event and Then Click On Registration Fields at the Top of the Page.
10. Name and email are always required but if you would like to add more fields as you need (ex: Phone Number / How did you hear about us?, etc...).
A) To add more fields just select the type (text or dropdown) give it a label (for example: Phone Number) then select the Mapping field.
Note The mapping field will always be Custom Field unless it is a Phone Number or Address attribute. This allows us to directly tie these fields to the user.
B) Check the Required Field if it is required for the user to fill this section out.
C) If you selected a dropdown instead of text then add each of the menu items on a separate line for the user to select from.
D) Click on Add Registration Field
E) Once added you can sort the fields as needed by dragging and dropping them around inside of the list.
12. Click Save Event when you are finished editing here and then click Thank You at the top.
11. For the Thank You URL click on Landing Page and then Update Page Content - Change this how you want and then save it in the lower right.
12. Click the Save Event button and then click Checkout at the top of the page.
13. If you charge for bookings then enter an amount inside the Registration Cost area. You can enter something like 45 for $45. then click the Save Event button. Leave this empty if you do not want to charge.
Note this is optional and will require users to pay to book a call with you if added.
18. Click on Notifications and edit the existing notifications if needed. By default an email is created to go out instantly to the person who registers. Then one 24 hours prior, and lastly a text message is scheduled to go out 30 minutes prior. You can add additional notifications or delete these as needed.
19. Click on Save Event.
Lastly there are a few additional options.
If you want users to be able to register on the day of the event then click on Details at the top of the page and then click Show Advanced Options. Now check the box that says select the box that says Allow same date registration and then click Save Event.
16. Note you can also select your google calendar here as well if you have added it.
